The fifth annual Energy Roundtable conference will take place on September 30, 2008 in Calgary . Discussions will focus on the theme A sustainable energy future? and address the economic and environmental implications of investors shifting to Canadian energy resources and away from insecure overseas sources. With some of the world's largest recognized energy reserves Canada , will play an increasingly central role in global energy security. How does Canada intend to meet its future energy challenges and what does being a global energy player mean for the country and its industry? The Energy Roundtable was created in 2004 by the Canada Europe Roundtable for Business (CERT) to facilitate private-sector investment and growth in Canadian energy markets. Attendance at the Energy Roundtable is by invitation and limited to 125 senior-level participants, with sessions structured to facilitate open dialogue.
